Sometimes days can feel overwhelming when balancing work,
school, family, social life, etc. – there’s just so many elements that can come
into play and with that said, we don’t devote enough time to ourselves or our
needs. So I just wanted to share some ways that we can enhance our innermost needs
that won’t break your budget.
Mind: Go to bookshop and read a book, pick up a paintbrush
and some color at your local art supply store, explore nature and take some
pictures, pick up an old instrument that you no longer play, do anything that’ll
get your creative juices flowing. Learning some new is always a good thing to
do to occupy your mind and distract you from the stress of your daily routine.
Body: Indulge yourself! When you’re hard at work and hardly
get to eat anything outside the realm of fast food – you can’t really get a
good meal on a 30 minute lunch – then take yourself out. Go somewhere that you’ve
been wanting to go. That café around the block, the new pizza place in
downtown, etc. Of course, we can’t indulge ourselves all the time or if we
choose to, then we must be on top of our fitness and health. Exercising is a
good way to de-stress.
Soul: Anything that helps you to clear your mind. Block out
the hectic calendar dates, the meetings, the functions and relax for a few
minutes. Dim the lights and light some candles, listen to some music, meditate
or do that which will help you with drown out the outside noise. A massage is
actually a good combination of all of those things and a perfect way to rid
yourself of those tensing muscles.
If all else fails, just take a mini vacation out of town!
