I like to do things spur of the moment. While planning things may be great, you can also miss out on some spur of the moment memories.
I listen to all genres of music, but when I just want to relax or chill out, I enjoy some listening to some low-tempo, groovy music. One band, for example, is Theivery Corporation. They're a multi-genre band with polyglot vocalists that play the kind of music that make you bob your head or just sway and really feel the music. Luckily I got to see them Friday. A coworker and I found out they were playing at a racetrack near San Diego so we left work early and headed straight there. Two hours later, we enjoyed the last horse race and proceeded to the stage area. The show was so amazing! Definitely worth the trip out and back and such a night to remember!
Yesterday, I attended a food and beverage festival. It was the Burgers and Beer event presented by the Los Angeles-based newspaper: LA Weekly. The event took place at the LA Memorial Coliseum and it was perfectly executed. Over 40 well-known burger joints and restaurants paired with just as many local breweries and macro beer companies. Throw in some live music and it makes for a pretty amazing time. Definitely something I would love to attend again. Just make sure to bring some friends and an empty stomach!
